They have bomb authentic Salvadorean food here. I've been coming for years. Their fried plantains, guisados, caldos, pupusas, tamales and all else is good here. When I'm missing home cooked meals this is the spot to eat

Authentic flavors. I ordered pupusas and tamales. I'll definitely be going back. The place was clean and welcoming. The only downside is cash only but luckily we looked it up before we went.

The food is good here, prices are good too. But there's not too much customer service. We came in early for breakfast & no one acknowledged us & we weren't sure if we just sit down & they come to us. We found menus randomly & started looking & even waited at the table for a good 5-10 minutes until we went to the front to ask & order. There was about 2 other ppl there & our food took a while to come out. As well they only accept cash but they do have a ATM there to withdraw money. My favorite was the atol de elote, that's something I'll be coming back for soon!

The 4 star rating is for the food- it is hard to beat.
The service gets 2stars tops because the lady there is always grumpy and you couldn't force a smile out of her but it's part of the experience of the place.
This spot qualifies as a hole in the wall, in the hole in the wall directory. It is a relic of what Highland Park used to be like, with the Tía in the back cooking up the food. The food is authentic and they don't mind telling you that their prices are a little higher than others because they use only Salvadorian cheese - Like real stuff made there, not a Monterey Jack mix like most places do. TBH I've only ever had the pupusas from here I've never tried the other food so this is a narrow food review but I'm willing to bet the rest of the food is done right too.
Pupusa novices and experts alike rejoice at Divino Salvador but be warned about the service, or lack there of. -

This place was great, our other favorite pupusa place in the highland market on Fig switched owners, and we were really bummed, but we saw this place driving down York and decided to try it. I'm surprised it doesn't get better reviews, the food is super good as mentioned in other reviews. I had pupusas revueltas, and they were terrific, the cheese is really tasty. My wife got a pupusa and we shared the plantains with rice and sour cream, which turned out to be a really good combination.
We were greeted with a smile by both of the ladies working behind the counter, so maybe they decided to be a little nicer to their customers!
We will be back in sure.
